Waves OneKnob Pumper Plug-in – How Good Is It? Our Test

Watch other Waves OneKnob video tests: https://www.pro-tools-expert.com/home-page/2018/1/9/testing-waves-oneknob-plug-ins-oneknob-driver

In this Pro Tools Expert video series, brought to you with the support of Waves, we test the entire range of Waves OneKnob Series plug-ins. Each of these OneKnob plug-ins provides an individual process that users set by use of a single dial.

In this sixth episode, we test Waves OneKnob Pumper plug-in which is essentially a gain reduction processor modulated by an internal LFO. To produce a pumping effect we usually run kick drums into the sidechain of a mix bus or track’s compressor but with OneKnob Pumper we get the same results by use of a single dial and rate setting. In this video we demonstrate two OneKnob Pumper applications. The first being how we can use Pumper to sound as though a kick drum is sucking the volume of a different instrument in a mix, the other example shows you how you can get a dub sounding Wub Wub effect in a bass instrument.

Is OneKnob Pumper any good? Watch the video and decide for yourself.
