How Good Are My Ears? Improving Your Hearing Skills For Mixing
Software
Just how good are my ears? It’s something I think about once in a while when mixing and producing so in this video I decided to challenge myself with some audio training games and also discuss ear training and frequency perception skills. Follow along and see if you can guess better than I did in these challenges.
This video is NOT sponsored by SoundGym – it’s just a fun place to do these challenges :)
I do believe that the most wholesome way of developing your listening skills is to make a lot of music / do a lot of mixes and keep listening to a lot of music that you love, however, these sorts of audio challenges did help me identify some weak spots in my hearing and I also thought it was a lot of fun!
