time for another two minutes Tuesday
today I’m going to show you how to get
this tape stop riser effect very quickly
very easily using Killa Hart’s tape stop
effect tape stop is a snap-in plugin you
can get this by itself or in the snap
heap plugin which is a multi-effects
processor or in the multi-pass plugin
which is a multi-band multi-effects
processor both of those plugins are
incredible I hope to do some videos on
those soon but for right now we’re gonna
focus on just the tape stop effect so
what I’m gonna do is erase it and let’s
get started so this is the riser by
itself let’s go ahead and solo it
all right so it’s already pretty large
and in charge, I did add a bit of reverb
to it just to give it a little bit more
depth in space let’s take the tape stop
effect drop it on there and this is very
straightforward you hit the play button
the tape stops so let’s go ahead and
check it out so very obviously we want
to animate that or automate that rather
overtime and I found the best way to do
that is just to do it right at the end
of the bar so actually it’s inverted I
believe cool so something like this and
then for the last one, I had it actually
happen for two beats instead of
just one and the next thing I did is
turn up the tape stop time just so it’s
a little bit more apparent and pull down
the tape start time over here to make it
start quicker so let’s listen to what we
have and what I want to do actually is
come down here just put this automation
in its own lane so we can keep an eye on
it
so for this last one, it’s actually
stopping too fast so what we can do is
automate the stop time click right there
and again let’s put it in its own
automation Lane and just pull it up a
little bit more now let’s listen
and if we just throw some other effects
on there just to give you kind of
something in context let’s go ahead and
listen to that now
and obviously, if you think that the
tapes still taut stopping too fast we
can pull up the time a little bit more
one more time
boom there you go

is a lot of applications for this you
can put this on your lead synth your
snares whatever you want it’s gonna add
just a little bit more interesting
character to your build-ups anyway I
