Eye Health is very important, are you protecting your eyes? I wanted to make this video because I have always struggled with eye sensitivity and screens. After a few years of figuring out what works for me I decided to share these tips so you can all live a little bit healthier too. Screens are bad for your eyes. The proximity, intensity and colour of light can leave you short sighted, dry eyed and tired. The blue light disrupts your sleep hormone called melatonin and this could be damaging your health in the long term. These three tips might help you reduce your eye strain and feel better. Even if your eyes are good right now, it’s best to protect them for the future :) 1)Diet and Lifestyle Make sure that you stay hydrated and eat a balanced diet everyday. Foods that help with eye health are usually rich in vitamins such as leafy dark greens, berries and salads etc Try to reduce the amount of fats and oils in your diet too. Avoid staring at your screen for long periods of time. Sometimes just taking a 3 minute break every half hour can make a huge difference. When you stare at a screen all day you can become short sighted, it’s a good idea to spend time outside letting your eyes adjust. When outside in the sun, wear sunglasses to reduce tension (and look cool) 2)Screen Brightness and Blue Light Use a blue light filter like FLUX to reduce the amount of Blue light emmited by your screen. If you use your computer at night or early in the morning, this will make a big difference to how restful your sleep is. FLUX is a free option that many trust, you can download it here : https://justgetflux.com/ I also use a similar software on my phone, lots of the apps work so just choose one with a nice interface. I use HALO https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ogoons.halo&hl=en_GB Searching for “Blue Light FIlter” in the app store will return lots of great results. 3)Reduce Glare If any light is reflecting from your screen you want to try adn identify the casue and fix it, often a window or light directly beside you causes this. Have you ever been outside in the sun and tried to look at your phone? You don’t want to squint and strain your eyes like that. Another tip is to try a cold flannel or towel. Sometimes if my eyes are dry and burned out, I simply get a cold, damp cloth/towel and place it over my eyes while sitting of lying down. Focuss on your breathing to hel relax your facial muscles and let the cooling effect relax and refresh your eyes. I hope some of this advice helps you as much as it has helped me, Michael ▶Support the channel and get early access to videos Patreon https://www.patreon.com/inthemix ▶Our Patrons Craig Taylor Clint Hughes Dewayne Jackson Jack Austin Laurent Paret Kevyn Cooling Jonathan Bjornson Louis Jans Salahadin ▶Our Channel Designer – https://www.instagram.com/vivalucci ▶The Kit We Use: These links are the cheapest prices I can find. About In The Mix

In The Mix is all about simplifying the recording, production, mixing, and mastering process and helping you unlock your creativity. No matter which DAW you use or what equipment you have, I’m determined to help you succeed. I try to share as much as I can about the industry and give an insight into the world of music production and the business behind it by showing you how to release and sell your music online. Being an FL Studio Power User I also focus tutorials on getting the most out of FL Studio, My DAW of choice. Micahel Wynne is a recording artist and mixing engineer with a passion for teaching (and instant ramen). In 2015 I discovered my enthusiasm for music and audio; I learned how to record and produce songs in my university student room with a just cheap laptop and FL Studio. After several months of working in audio sessions between school assignments, I decided to leave uni with a 2-year engineering diploma to pursue a career in music. I wanted to learn everything I could about the industry and the artistic process, so I started making original music as half of the duo “Miavono”. In late 2016 I began my journey on YouTube, sharing my knowledge and experiences with audio in the form of tutorials on “In The Mix”. I quickly grew a community of over 120,000 producers, artists, and audio professionals, a group of people whose passions aligned with mine. Last year I built my own home studio from the ground up in my back garden, set in the rural highlands of Scotland, and have since been supported by and involved with some of the greatest people in the industry.
