Brad and I filmed this video last week and were planning to upload it a few days ago. After the tragic news this week, we decided that we couldn’t post the video and needed some time. It hit everyone deeply and we took time to try and come to terms with what is going on in the World. We hope you understand.
The Free TDR Plugins metioned can be downloaded here:
We filmed part two on the same day and that video will be uploaded shortly.
In these videos we talk about the mixing of some of the instruments to show you what we did but also to learn from our mistakes – This mix is by no means perfect!
There are several things we would have done differently including:
– Mixing the track to sit at a peak level of -3 to -6 dB prior to
– Mixing at lower volumes to preserve hearing
– Using better EQ and Compression vsts and skills (constant learning process)
Our Microphone broke near the end so I apologise for the terrible audio towards the end of the video, this won’t happen again.
Our new tracks including “Craving You” which comes out this Friday (Tomorrow) have mixing that Brad and I cannot wait to show you. Those tutorials will be far more detailed and useful we hope. We are still learning all the time so don’t take anything we say as the only correct way to do things, Brad and I are constantly trying to improve and we really appreciate both positive and negative feedback in the comments – I have learned so much from this community! You guys have suggested new techniques, shortcuts and vsts that are invaluable to our work. Thanks you
Mike and Brad

We want to show people how to make new music on fl studio 12 so that you can all join in and produce music too :)
About In The MixIn The Mix is all about simplifying the recording, production, mixing, and mastering process and helping you unlock your creativity. No matter which DAW you use or what equipment you have, I’m determined to help you succeed. I try to share as much as I can about the industry and give an insight into the world of music production and the business behind it by showing you how to release and sell your music online. Being an FL Studio Power User I also focus tutorials on getting the most out of FL Studio, My DAW of choice. Micahel Wynne is a recording artist and mixing engineer with a passion for teaching (and instant ramen). In 2015 I discovered my enthusiasm for music and audio; I learned how to record and produce songs in my university student room with a just cheap laptop and FL Studio. After several months of working in audio sessions between school assignments, I decided to leave uni with a 2-year engineering diploma to pursue a career in music. I wanted to learn everything I could about the industry and the artistic process, so I started making original music as half of the duo “Miavono”. In late 2016 I began my journey on YouTube, sharing my knowledge and experiences with audio in the form of tutorials on “In The Mix”. I quickly grew a community of over 120,000 producers, artists, and audio professionals, a group of people whose passions aligned with mine. Last year I built my own home studio from the ground up in my back garden, set in the rural highlands of Scotland, and have since been supported by and involved with some of the greatest people in the industry.
