Making Dub Techno With A Random Sample, Featuring Spektre’s Paul Maddox
Producertech
This clip comes from Paul Maddox’s live Q&A for #PTMembers in January 2021. Check out his Producertech Raw Techno course: https://www.producertech.com/staff-picks/174/raw-techno-production-techniques
How to sound like Basic Channel?
The video see’s Paul create a dub techno track using a random sample suggested by the viewers. So the end result is quite rough and ready (it was done live after all) but the technique is a great way to quickly create a legit sounding dub techno stab using just a bit of FX processing to make it unrecognisable from its source.
Note: We have bleeped out the original sample as we’re scared of the copyright police!
