Hello lovely people!
We changed our Channel name to be more fitting to what we do, I hope you like the change!
We have had at least 100 comments asking us what microphones we use and why, so Brad and I put together this short guide explaining a few of the key differences and similarities between USB and XLR microphones.

We had at least 1 million technical issues making this video but we have just got our hands on a lot of new kit so this shouldn’t happen again! Thanks for bearing with us.
We also recommend which you should buy at the end of the video.

I also want to put to bed a MYTH that you cannot use two USB microphones at the same time. This is only a MYTH, I have done it for several of our older covers where I simply plugged two or more into the same laptop and was good to go :)

We talk about cost, sound, usability and lifespan.
The Kit We Use:
Headphones : Beyerdynamic DT 770 pro and DT 1990 Pro
Monitors : KRK Rokit 5 GP3
Interface : Audient id14
Keyboard: M Audio Axiom 49 2nd Gen ( Upgrading to Novation next week)
Microphones: RODE NT 2 A and RODE NT USB (Cannot get better at the price)
Piano VST: Addictive Keys
Drum Samples : Native FL Studio or Real drum samples recorded by Warren Huart and Matt Starr ( I’ll see if they will let me share them with you guys)

FAQ:

Q: Why don’t you guys make your own songs?
A: We do, we have lots of original music on a playlist on the channel home page and also on our main channel “H Y B R I D” :)

Q: Which music College/ university did you attend?
A: We didn’t, we have been doing this for about 1 year in our bedroom while studying a Biomedical engineering masters degree.

Q: How long have you been doing this?
A: On and off for one year

Q: What instruments do you play?
A: Between Brad and I we play Piano, Bagpipes, Guitar, Drums, Vocals (does that count?) and all the synth too :)
