Hello Everyone :) At the end of this video there is some behind the scenes of our next unreleased song/music video ;) The giveaway link is below I hope you are all having a great day, today we are continuing our FL Studio basics series by talking about Fruity Parametric EQ 2. This EQ is a fantastic tool to separate, shape and clean up instruments and vocals in your mix. It is super easy to use and very intuitive however there are a few “hidden” features that can help a huge amount such as selecting a filter mode such as “High Pass”. I have seen many tutorials for EQ 2 where they do not show this and it makes the job a lot more difficult, people are dragging all sorts of weird shapes and pulling token down just to make a high pass shape. I tend to use a variety of different EQs including TDR slick EQ, Parametric EQ 2, Nova, Slate and Eiosis because I like experimenting and learning them to see how the best sound can be achieved but Fruity Parametric EQ 2 is a versatile tool especially for subtractive EQ. Here is a list of topics covered in this video 0:50 – Interface Overview showing all features 3:00 – Selecting and refining a Filter Type 3:30 – Demonstration of filter types including Low Pass, High Pass, Band Pass, Band Stop, Low Shelf and High Shelf 5:45 – Frequency Comparison of High Pass vs Low Shelf Filter 8:00 – Applying EQ 2 in your mix, surgical correction 10:45 – Behind the scenes – Cello recording and Music video filming Enter the free giveaway here: https://youtu.be/Nys7juccpAk There is a little glitch in the video where I was about to move onto the “Key” choice but my audio stopped recording…that simply lets you select a particular note which can help remove bad notes if you are using a sampled instrument, it can be used with some success but isn’t necessary. About In The Mix

In The Mix is all about simplifying the recording, production, mixing, and mastering process and helping you unlock your creativity. No matter which DAW you use or what equipment you have, I’m determined to help you succeed. I try to share as much as I can about the industry and give an insight into the world of music production and the business behind it by showing you how to release and sell your music online. Being an FL Studio Power User I also focus tutorials on getting the most out of FL Studio, My DAW of choice. Micahel Wynne is a recording artist and mixing engineer with a passion for teaching (and instant ramen). In 2015 I discovered my enthusiasm for music and audio; I learned how to record and produce songs in my university student room with a just cheap laptop and FL Studio. After several months of working in audio sessions between school assignments, I decided to leave uni with a 2-year engineering diploma to pursue a career in music. I wanted to learn everything I could about the industry and the artistic process, so I started making original music as half of the duo “Miavono”. In late 2016 I began my journey on YouTube, sharing my knowledge and experiences with audio in the form of tutorials on “In The Mix”. I quickly grew a community of over 120,000 producers, artists, and audio professionals, a group of people whose passions aligned with mine. Last year I built my own home studio from the ground up in my back garden, set in the rural highlands of Scotland, and have since been supported by and involved with some of the greatest people in the industry.
