In this video, we learn how you can use frequency modulation synthesis to create complex timbres. FM synthesis has very low CP usage and you can create complex timbres simply with sine waves. He demonstrates this with the modulation of frequency using LFO, which is called “vibrato.” As you change the range of the modulation, you see the peaks spread out from the center frequency, which is really just sped up vibrato.
